GATHER

Prayer

Immanuel Lutheran Church offers several prayer ministries:

1. Prayer Fellowship: A communal prayer gathering on April 6th at 8:30 a.m.
2. Prayer Requests: Members can share needs and thanksgivings for prayer support.
3. Dream Intercessors: A team praying for the pastor and family.
4. Prayer Shawl Ministry: Handcrafted shawls available for those in need, created with prayers and recorded to avoid duplication.

Right Path

The Right Path is a Christ-centered and Biblically based 12 step ministry for those in recovery of any kind. The meetings are at 9:30am on Saturdays at Immanuel. Family members and friends are welcome

Women's Ministry

Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Women’s Ministry unites women to raise funds for worthy causes and dedicate their time to community service. Through various fundraising events and volunteer opportunities, they aim to support local charities and initiatives, fostering a spirit of generosity and fellowship. Their commitment not only enhances the church community but also makes a positive impact in the wider community.

Men's Ministry

Men's Ministry provides opportunities for men to meet weekly for fellowship and study, to be part of a team that maintains the church properties and to be part of a group of men that enjoy singing. I am sure that we can create a page with the template that you will be providing.

Music

Churchyard is a bluegrass band in the Brainerd Lakes area.

Wing & A Prayer: They play on the 3rd Sunday each month. Contact Pastor Paul to join.

Hallelujah Handbell Choir: Open to all ages. Contact Ardelle Patrick to join.

 and Men’s Chorus.

Quilters

Immanuel's Quilters gather twice a month to assemble quilts that are delivered to Adult and Teen Challenge, the Women's Shelter in Brainerd and the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf.  Quilts are also donated to individuals and organizations in need. Years ago, Immanuel Quilters made quilts for World Relief.

Milestone

Bibles: Third grade students are presented with a Bible to guide them in their spiritual journey following instruction that includes a family member. Parents and/or grandparents are given the opportunity to highlight their favorite verses.

First Communion: Welcome to the Lord’s Table! Fifth grade students, following instruction with a “family” member, receive the celebration of their 1st Communion.

Confirmation Fall 2024: a three-year program of experiential learning beginning in the seventh grade, young people are invited to affirm their baptism and are welcomed into fuller participation in the church and world as children of God.

Blessing of Graduates: For those graduating from high school. Parents and students bless one another and the parent(s) present their student with a quilt with their school colors.

Family

In Children’s Ministry…
Sunday School is held each Sunday through May 18th, and releases from the service immediately after communion. This allows families to worship together and gives parents time to stay and fellowship after service. Children ages 4-12 are invited to Sunday School! We continue to learn with the congregation through the “Believe” series.

In Confirmation/Youth…
Students are engaging in Wednesday night activities through the Lent season, via Soup Suppers with mentors, helping with clean-up, then attending services and having Faith Talks with mentors following each service. This is a nice tradition, where students both grow in their faith journey, as well as connect with an adult mentor whom they continue a relationship with in the future. Regular Wednesday evening youth activities resume April 23rd.

GO

Malawi

The Malawi Orphan Care Project (MOCP) works in partnership with local leaders in Malawi to help orphans in Malawi and their caregivers. The agency that we work with in Malawi is the Kanyenyeva Orphan Care Ministry (KOCM). Donations are used for the feeding program (providing several meals a week), evangelism, youth sports program, high school scholarships, elementary school fees, building projects and much more!

Lunch Brunch

The Cuyuna Lakes Lunch Bunch provides nutritious meals for area youth during the summer. Organized by local churches and Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, this free program ensures that children can access healthy lunches when school meal programs are unavailable. The Lunch Bunch will offer lunches on weekdays at various locations across the Cuyuna Lakes area.

Cuyuna Range Food Shelf

The Cuyuna Range Food Shelf distributes food on the second and third Wednesdays of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Area churches and city hall have a list of volunteers who are on call for emergency needs. Those wishing to serve in this ministry will be placed on a waiting list and will be called when there is an opening to serve. Notify the church office if you are interested.
Immanuel continues to be a leader with food, monetary donations as well as volunteers to work the food shelf. ILC’s ongoing food collections are very important and are used to further support larger families. Distribution hours are 8:30-9:30am on the 2nd & 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Emergencies are always addressed and answer as soon as possible.
Anyone need help? Know someone who needs help? Call the church office at 546-6010; they’ll make sure someone is notified. We “Thank You” for supporting those in need. God Bless!

REC

Residents Encounter Christ is a two-day, weekend retreat, based on the Paschal Mystery of Christ – the Death and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Several members of our congregation are involved in this ministry within the communities of Aitkin, Crosby and Brainerd, MN.

Mission Statement:
It is the purpose of Northeast Minnesota Residents Encountering Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to provide an opportunity for the Incarcerated (i.e. jail, prison or juvenile facility) to personally encounter Jesus Christ within themselves and others by witnessing and experiencing the power of the Christian community, the Sacraments and the Paschal Mystery.
